Leverage Resources and Implement

After a strategy is in place, the region should leverage resources from private, non-profit, and government sources in support of the common regional economic development goals. These resources are used to bolster small businesses, promote sustainable entrepreneurship, and fund job-training programs at education centers like community colleges.

• Asset Mapping Roadmap Guide - Find information about asset mapping, and the links to several asset mapping tools.
• America's Service Locator - Employers and jobseekers can find the services they need at a convenient One-Stop Career Center. Or find other service provider locations relevant to employment, training, and economic development.
• CareerOneStop Employer Locator - Find a specific employer or create lists of employers for a job search.
• Department of Interior - U.S Geological Survey - The USGS serves the nation by providing reliable scientific information to describe and understand the Earth; minimize loss of life and property from natural disasters; manage water, biological, energy, and mineral resources; and enhance and protect our quality of life.
• Cooperate: A Practitioner's Guide for Effective Alignment of Regional Development and Higher Education - This guide is the result of a partnership between the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration's (ETA) Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) initiative, and the Council of Competitiveness.
• Federal Assistance Award Data System for Federal, State, and Local Governments (FAADS) - Produces a file of standardized data records on all types of financial assistance awards made by federal agencies to all types of recipients during the indicated quarter.
